Me
I am originally from beautiful Perth, Western Australia, but as of March 2012 I am in another beautiful corner of the world, Far North Queensland. My partner manages a tin mining company and, until we move into our own home, we are living at the mine. That is “interesting”, to say the least!
My family remains back in Perth, and my beloved Vespa was sold. I now must build a life for myself on the opposite side of the country in a remote location, where I know no one, and where access to so many things I’m used to taking for granted can no longer be taken for granted. (Diving! I miss diving! And food! Argh!) So I find myself amidst yet another of life’s many challenges.
My work background is doing web stuff, though this is proving to be a smidgeon difficult with the state of the internet connection where I am staying. We shall see what eventuates.
This blog is my place to tell friends and other interested folks what’s happening in my life as well as about my experiences as a cochlear implant recipient.
Update 5 September 2015
It is almost exactly three years to the day since I wrote the above, but rather than editing it to reflect my present life, I wanted to leave it there for me to reflect back on as I wish. After all, this blog is all about me. ;-)
I now live in Perth again, and as well as doing web work, I am now a health coach. I still don’t have another Vespa. I do, however, have a baby grandson, which is better. I can now dive whenever I want (that is, shore dives — boat dives being a different matter!) and I have access to the most amazing array of amazing food all over again.
So life is good. :-)
